Mindfulness:

  • Meditation - focuses on awareness of the breath, body, mind and environment; helping you become aware of what is happening in the moment. Mindfulness Meditation is about being unconditionally present with whatever is happening, not looking backwards or forwards, but living in the "here and now".
  • Eating - Mindful Eating involves bringing awareness to the eating experience. It's a learned practice that can greatly elevate the experience of eating. It involves a presence and awareness of how food is prepared, what food is chosen to eat, why the food is chosen to eat and how the food is eaten. Mindful Eating creates a sensory experience where all aspects of the food are savored and the mind and body are all equally nourished. This type of eating can also be incorporated into a healthy way to eat food, just by slowing down.

Focused:

This form of meditation focuses on different parts of the body and being aware of all the sensations of the body; pain, tension, warmth, relaxation, etc. Combined with breathing this type of meditation helps promote concentration and higher awareness in thoughts and/or feelings, along with healing.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR)

PMR is a two step process which includes tightening and flexing certain muscle groups then releasing them. By focusing on the release of the tension, you should be able to feel a sense of relaxation and calmness. This type of meditation is useful to release stress in a safe manner both physically and mentally. (Please note this is only a 30 minute meditation)
